Vincent Kompany: Suffers Slight Knee Injury
Kompany was taken off early in the second half in Belgium's Euro 2016 qualifier against Andorra on Friday, but he said the injury was not serious, ESPN FC reports. "I came off as a precaution," Kompany said, who had an ice pack on his knee after the match. "Before the game, I already had a slight problem and the coach decided to take me out."
Analysis:
The news that Kompany had an issue coming in is news, as there had been nothing from Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini of late confirming anything wrong with his star centreback. Kompany said that he is getting ready for Belgium's next match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, which certainly bodes well for his status for Man City, who face Tottenham on Oct. 18 after the international break.
