Anelka will not play vs Liverpool

Nicolas Anelka (knee) has been ruled out of West Brom's match against Liverpool on Sunday, according to Chris Lepkowski of the Birmingham Mail.

Anelka needed stitches to close a gash on his knee suffered in Wednesday's match against Aston Villa, so it's not too surprising that he'll sit. 

His next shot at getting back on the pitch comes February 8 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
