Teenager Monga makes Championship history but Leicester crash

Jeremy Monga became the Championship's youngest-ever goalscorer, but the 16-year-old could not prevent Leicester losing 2-1 at Preston on Saturday.

Aged 16 years and 37 days, Monga came off the bench to score the goal that beat a record previously held by Jude Bellingham.

Monga's strike cancelled out Alfie Devine's early opener for Preston, but Milutin Osmajic netted five minutes from full-time at Deepdale to secure the points for the hosts.

Monga had become Leicester's youngest ever starter in Wednesday's League Cup penalty shootout defeat by Huddersfield.
