There will be a new FA Cup champion this season.

Holders Arsenal, who have won the FA Cup a record 14 times, exited the competition on Saturday after a 1-0 away loss to Southampton.

The contest at St. Mary's Stadium was decided by an own goal, with Southampton moving ahead after Kyle Walker-Peters' cross into the box deflected off defender Gabriel and into the Arsenal net.

Mikel Arteta's men pushed for an equalizer in the second half after Thomas Partey, Bukayo Saka, and Alexandre Lacazette were brought on as replacements. But the tying goal never materialized, and the Saints held on to secure their first-ever win over Arsenal in the FA Cup.

"I’m very disappointed," Arteta told reporters after the match, according to Goal's Charles Watts. "We had a dream to do it again and that dream is over. I’m disappointed the way we conceded the goal. I cannot fault the efforts of the players, but it wasn’t enough."

Southampton, who play Arsenal again on Tuesday in the Premier League, will take on Wolverhampton in the fifth round of the tournament on Feb. 10.
