Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold could be sidelined for up to four weeks after suffering a calf injury in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City, reports Paul Joyce of The Times.

The 22-year-old left the match at the Etihad just after the hour mark.

"Trent will be out for England, that is clear," Jurgen Klopp said after Sunday's contest, bemoaning the congested fixture list that's been a huge point of contention for several Premier League managers in recent days.

"He will not be the last and not the only one who Gareth (Southgate) will miss for this international break."

Despite that international break softening the blow, the reported timeline could see the ever-present full-back miss upcoming games against Leicester City, Atalanta, Brighton & Hove Albion, Ajax, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Alexander-Arnold, who has three assists across all competitions this season, joins star defender Virgil van Dijk on the injured list. His absence will force Klopp to once again get creative with his lineup selections as the Merseyside outfit tries to navigate a hectic schedule spanning multiple competitions.
