The final few days of the transfer window are going to be hectic for Manchester United.

The Red Devils are engaged in talks to sign left-back Alex Telles from FC Porto, reports Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian. The agents involved in the negotiations are "confident" a deal will be completed before the Oct. 5 deadline, Romano adds.

Porto want £18 million for the Brazilian full-back, according to the BBC's Simon Stone.

In addition to bolstering the backline, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to upgrade his attack, too.

Jadon Sancho has long been the primary target in that area, but with an agreement looking unlikely for the English phenom due to Borussia Dortmund's hefty valuation, United are turning their attention elsewhere.

Free-agent striker Edinson Cavani is discussing a potential move to Old Trafford, while a loan for Luka Jovic has also been broached with Real Madrid, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia.

Though defensive upgrades appear to be critical after the team's opening two matches of the Premier League season - a defeat to Crystal Palace and a fortuitous win over Brighton and Hove Albion - a bona fide No. 9 would also help relieve Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial of bearing much of burden to deliver goals.
