8 Premier League records Liverpool are poised to establish

This run of results matches Manchester City's benchmark set during the 2017-18 campaign. Jurgen Klopp's Reds will fancy themselves to surpass it when they visit Watford on Saturday.
This year, the Champions League holders have already set new marks for most points over 38 straight matches over two seasons (108), consecutive wins over two campaigns (20), the biggest margin atop the standings at any point in a season (25), and the most consecutive wins to begin a term (10).
After smashing the record for most points in a campaign without winning the league (97) last term in coming up short to City, this season's new heights seem deserved.
Here's a look at eight other Premier League records that Liverpool could set over their remaining schedule:
1. Most consecutive wins in a season
Current record: 18 (Liverpool 2019-20, Manchester City 2017-18)
Watford have played some inspired football under Nigel Pearson, though the Hornets have the league's fourth-worst home record. There's a sense of inevitability to Liverpool setting this mark, especially since Watford have registered four points out of a potential 27 against the Reds in their last nine meetings.

2. Most consecutive games without a loss
Current record: 49 (Arsenal 2002-03 to 2004-05)
Liverpool have gone 44 matches without facing defeat and are closing in on matching an unbeaten streak that defined Arsene Wenger's celebrated tenure at Arsenal. The Gunners won their final two games of the 2002-03 season before Wenger's Invincibles went unbeaten in 2003-04. They then extended the run with five wins to open the following campaign.

3. Most wins in a season
Current record: 32 (Manchester City 2017-18 and 2018-19)
With 26 victories out of a possible 27, Liverpool need to win just seven of their final 11 league affairs to eclipse City's standard. Of those remaining fixtures, only Everton (A), Manchester City (A), Arsenal (A), and Chelsea (H) will strike any semblance of fear into Reds supporters.

Klopp's charges are averaging 2.92 points per outing, and at that clip, Liverpool would register their 101st point against Burnley at Anfield on April 25. Even if the Reds suffer a hiccup along the way, a trip to Arsenal, a visit from Chelsea, and a Matchday 38 visit to Newcastle offer further opportunities.

Four sides in Premier League history have won all but one of their 19 home fixtures (Chelsea 2005-06; Manchester United 2010-11; Manchester City, 2011-12, 2018-19). Anfield's been a fortress for Liverpool, and of their 15 home matches to date, they've won by two or more goals 10 times.

Liverpool will have to endure a dip in form, the likes of which they haven't experienced since 2017-18, to come up short of setting this record. The Reds sit 22 points ahead of Manchester City and 29 ahead of Leicester City, and with the former chasing European glory and the latter enduring a moderate decline, Liverpool's chances of establishing this record are high.

8. Longest time unbeaten
Current record: 537 days (Arsenal 2002-03 to 2004-05)
If Liverpool end the season without a loss, the Merseyside lot will eventually surpass the Gunners' all-time duration of nearly 18 months. That will happen on June 23, smack-dab in the middle of Euro 2020, though if Liverpool are still in Champions League and FA Cup contention after clinching the league, Klopp could prioritize other matters, risking this relatively trivial benchmark.
