Report: Lloris could miss 2 months with dislocated elbow
Hugo Lloris suffered a dislocated elbow on Saturday that could keep the shot-stopper out for two months, a source told ESPN FC's Julien Laurens.
Lloris went to hospital after landing awkwardly on his arm in the third minute of Tottenham's match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Though Spurs confirmed there was no fracture, the 32-year-old is still expected to miss a significant amount of time.
He's scheduled for further consultation on Monday with France's team doctor, Laurens reports.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said Lloris' injury had a "massive impact" on the game, according to BT Sport. Goals from Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly handed Brighton a surprising 3-0 win.
Lloris suffered the injury while attempting to catch a hopeful cross from Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross. The goalkeeper couldn't keep hold, and Maupay headed the ball in.
Substitute shot-stopper Paulo Gazzaniga was thrust into the role, only to concede another sloppy goal. Connolly jumped on a rebound to extend Brighton's lead in the 32nd minute and scored again in the second half.
For the first time in his career, Gazzaniga may face an extended spell in Tottenham's goal. The 27-year-old has made just five Premier League starts since joining Spurs from Southampton in August 2017.
