Report: United won't sell Pogba at any price this summer

Manchester United won't consider selling Paul Pogba in the remaining weeks of the summer window, The Telegraph's James Ducker reports.

Without the possibility of signing a replacement - the Premier League's transfer deadline passed last week but English clubs can still sell to teams in other countries - United apparently made the decision to take Pogba off the market.

In any case, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still views the Frenchman as a vital component of his squad, even if Pogba has reservations about his future at the club.

"Obviously, there have been things said but only time will tell," Pogba said after United's opening win over Chelsea. "This question mark remains. However, as I said, I am here in Manchester. I enjoy playing with my teammates and I always want to win every game."

Real Madrid and Juventus reportedly pursued the World Cup winner this summer, with Los Blancos apparently presenting a derisory package that included £27.6 million in cash and James Rodriguez. Juventus, however, never made a concrete attempt to re-sign the player they sold in 2016 for a then-world-record £89 million.

United reportedly told clubs they wouldn't sell for anything less than £160 million. Nobody was willing to meet that valuation, according to Ducker.

Pogba, who registered two assists against Chelsea, has two years remaining on his contract. United also have an option to extend the deal by a further season.
