Despite self-imposed restrictions on the transfer market, manager Unai Emery said Arsenal are going after quality players in the summer window.

"We are being very, very demanding and are first speaking about the possibility to sign very big, very expensive players and the first player in our list is our first target," Emery said, according to the Press Association. "And after, if we cannot achieve that, then the second. But we are thinking every time that they are going to improve our squad."

BBC Sport correspondent David Ornstein has long stated the Gunners have just £45 million to work with this summer. But even with limited resources, the club reportedly tabled bids for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba, and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Emery didn't confirm if those players are on Arsenal's list of potential targets.

Arsenal have also been linked with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who's reportedly valued at £80 million.

Because of these limitations, Emery's side is reportedly open to signing Ceballos on temporary terms and without a purchase option.
