Solskjaer questions United players' commitment after Everton mauling
Ole's at the wheel, but can he actually steer it?
Manchester United suffered their sixth defeat in the last eight matches across all competitions, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side was hammered 4-0 by Everton on Sunday.
Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Lucas Digne, and Theo Walcott condemned the Red Devils to their latest setback, and has many asking whether the club was too hasty in naming Solskjaer the permanent manager.
After the contest, the Norwegian bench boss appeared to question the commitment of his team. Asked during his post-match press conference if his players care enough about playing for the club, his response was scathing.
"I don't know," he said, as quoted by ESPN FC. "You've got to ask them. I've asked them, you're not going get the answer from me but if you want to play at this club it has to mean more.
"We can't change the whole squad. One step at a time. I'm going to be successful here and there are players there that do have it."
Coming off the back of a heavy loss to Barcelona in midweek Champions League action - and with a top-four spot still up for grabs - the 46-year-old would surely have expected a reaction from his players at Goodison Park.
Instead, he got arguably the most insipid display he's overseen since he replaced Jose Mourinho.
United have now lost three consecutive Premier League away games for the first time since 1996.
There's no rest for the wicked, either: the Red Devils' next match is the Manchester derby on Wednesday.
