Wolves have reportedly received permission from the FA and Premier League to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on loan - even though he's already played for two teams this season.

The move still requires FIFA approval, but according to The Telegraph's John Percy, Wolves believe they can complete the transfer by early next week.

FIFA regulations state that a player can represent three clubs in a single campaign, but only play for two. Abraham earned minutes for Chelsea's Under-23 side and in the Community Shield before joining Aston Villa on loan, raising doubts he'd be allowed to suit up for Wolves. However, sources told Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas that neither of his appearances for the Blues count as official.

It's unclear if Villa will receive any compensation for the abrupt end to Abraham's loan deal. He was a vital reference point in the first half of the Championship season, scoring 16 goals to preserve Villa's hopes of promotion.

Since graduating from Chelsea's youth academy in 2016, Abraham has spent each of the past three years on loan at Bristol City, Swansea City, and Villa. He played just two other times for the west London side - both off the bench in the 2015-16 Premier League season.
