Arsenal suffered their first loss since August as Southampton produced a stunning 3-2 victory on Sunday to end the north London side's 22-match unbeaten streak.

Unai Emery's men managed to overcome a pair of deficits, with two goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan canceling out Danny Ings' brace, but they ultimately failed to score the go-ahead goal before Charlie Austin's header with under 10 minutes remaining secured the Saints' first home win of the season.

Arsenal last tasted defeat when they fell 3-2 away to Chelsea on Aug. 18. Conversely, the win was Southampton's first since Sept. 1, and just their second in the Premier League this campaign.

The victory lifts Southampton out of the relegation zone, while Arsenal fail to keep pace with Chelsea following the Blues' narrow 2-1 triumph over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways when they clash with north London rival Tottenham in the League Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday.
