Luke Shaw's relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been rocky at times, but it appears the left-back is set to stay at Old Trafford.

The English international will put pen to paper on a new long-term contract with the Red Devils, a reward for his restored fitness and form, BBC Sport's David Ornstein reports.

Shaw's new deal will represent "a huge increase" on his current £100,000-per-week wages, suggests The Telegraph's John Percy.

Reports toward the end of last season had suggested Shaw would be one of several players given the boot by Mourinho during the summer transfer window. Even after he survived the offseason, the Independent's Miguel Delaney claims the general expectation was that he would depart on a free when his current deal expires at the end of this season.

However, the 23-year-old has been rejuvenated this season, performing consistently for United and earning a Three Lions recall after his World Cup omission.
