Mesut Ozil is on track to be available for Arsenal's first match after the international break.

After back spasms forced the German midfielder to miss the club's 5-1 thrashing of Fulham, Arsenal revealed Friday that Ozil had returned to full training.

Barring a setback, the 29-year-old could therefore feature in Unai Emery's first team against Leicester City on Oct. 22.

News of Ozil's return coincided with another boost for the Gunners, as 21-year-old Ainsley Maitland-Niles also resumed full training after overcoming a small fracture in his left fibula suffered in August.

Meanwhile, the club announced that Petr Cech's left hamstring will be assessed ahead of the first match back from the break. Danny Welbeck, who withdrew from the English national team because of a "minor hamstring" injury, will also be examined ahead of the Leicester City clash.

Arsenal sit fourth in the Premier League table after collecting 18 points from their opening eight matches.
