Despite admitting he was partly to blame for the disastrous end to Jose Mourinho's second spell at Chelsea , Eden Hazard revealed that he's open to working with the Portuguese manager again.

Following the Blues' Premier League-winning campaign in 2015, Hazard explained that things quickly unravelled at Stamford Bridge the following season when Chelsea's dismal title defence led to Mourinho criticising his own players in public before the club sacked him.

In an interview with Belgian outlet HLN, Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, expressed his regret for his perceived role in Mourinho's dismissal, and admitted that he'd be happy work with the Manchester United manager again in the future.

"The last season under Mourinho was not enjoyable," he said, as translated by Sky Sports. "We didn't win, we got into a sort of routine, training without having fun, it was better for all parties that we parted ways. But if I'm asked now about one coach with whom I want to work again, I would say Mourinho.

"I don't regret many things in my career, but that I have not been able to work with Mourinho at Chelsea anymore is one of them. We had a team that could win more trophies. We just ended up in a negative cycle.

"I sent him a message to say I was sorry he had gone and that I was sorry. We'd enjoyed all that success together, but this time we hadn't. I felt a little bit guilty because I'd been player of the year. I'd been one of the most decisive players, and then I performed less."

The 2018-19 season has produced similar results as Mourinho's final season at Chelsea, with United experiencing their worst start to a season in the Premier League era. But, despite suggestions that he's on the verge of being sacked in his third season at Old Trafford, United has reportedly expressed their eagerness for Mourinho to continue as manager.

Meanwhile, Hazard is performing at an elite level, winning the Player of the Month honor for September, and scoring eight goals in 10 matches this season.
