Manchester City are getting no kind of luck.

Second-choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left foot in training Monday, the club announced. The Chilean could be in danger of missing the entirety of the 2018-19 season, according to Goal's Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee.

Following Monday's news, Bravo tweeted a positive message: "No matter what happens, or how bad it looks today, life goes on, and tomorrow will certainly be better," the 35-year-old wrote, as translated by the Manchester Evening News.

The news comes just days after Kevin De Bruyne was ruled out for three months with a knee injury he also picked up during a practice session.

This now leaves Pep Guardiola in something of a tough spot, without a senior backup to No. 1 Ederson after Joe Hart was allowed to join Burnley on a permanent transfer and Angus Gunn left the Etihad for Southampton this summer.

The likely man to step up will be Daniel Grimshaw, a 20-year-old prospect who has played no official senior games in his career. Grimshaw impressed in the UEFA Youth League last season and was promoted to the first-team squad during preseason after signing a new contract with the club. With the Premier League transfer window closed, he looks likely to receive something of a trial by fire in the coming months.
