Loris Karius' time with Liverpool may be over following an agreement that will see the German goalkeeper join Turkish side Besiktas on a two-year loan with an option to buy, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.

It's understood the 25-year-old will remain with Liverpool ahead of the Premier League team's encounter with Crystal Palace on Monday while representatives from the Reds and Besiktas finalize the agreement.

Andy Hunter of the Guardian reports that Besiktas will pay an initial £2.25-million loan fee and will be obligated to buy Karius for a further £7.25 million if the Black Eagles qualify for Europe and the goalkeeper features in a certain number of matches. Hunter adds that Liverpool would also receive 20 percent of any fee Besiktas acquires for Karius in the future.

The expected deal would bring an end to Karius' troubled career on Merseyside, which was highlighted by a pair of costly mistakes during Liverpool's Champions League final loss to Real Madrid. Manager Jurgen Klopp later cited a concussion as a possible reason for the player's calamitous errors.

Instead of giving Karius a chance to redeem himself, the club reached an agreement with Roma this summer to buy Brazilian international Alisson for £65 million - a world-record fee for a goalkeeper.

Karius' departure likely means that Simon Mignolet will remain at the club and act as Alisson's primary backup this season.
