Scholes: United won't challenge for Premier League title this season
Manchester United's Premier League title drought will last another year, at least according to legendary midfielder Paul Scholes.
Despite showing signs of improvement last season and finishing second behind rival Manchester City, Scholes said the combination of United's lack of summer signings and concern over the team's strategies will see his former club fall short in its quest for glory.
"When you look at Manchester City, possibly Liverpool, I don't think they (United) have the quality of those two teams at the minute," Scholes said in an interview with the Daily Mirror's James Whaling. "Liverpool have made some really good signings. United finished above them last season."

"I just don't see United getting closer to City," Scholes added. "City are a really good side, great manager, some great players, a way of playing that they all know about."
After winning a record 20th top-flight crown in 2013, United supporters have had little to cheer about during a period that represents the club's longest absence from the winner's podium in over 25 years.
"United seem to be not too sure what’s going on," Scholes said. "You don’t really know the team, you don't really know the players, you don’t know how they're going to perform from one week to the next.
"I don't see them challenging for the league this year."
