Mourinho jokingly refutes Guardiola's claim Premier League is top priority

The Premier League or the Champions League title? For Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, one isn't necessarily more important than the other - even if Pep Guardiola believes otherwise.

After being reminded of the Manchester City manager's comments stating that the Premier League title was the most important prize of all, Mourinho calmly refuted the claim with equal parts pride and wit.

"I think we always say that the most important one is the one that we win," Mourinho responded. "So when I won the Champions League, the Champions League was the most important trophy for me. When I won the leagues, the leagues were more important for me.

"And, when I win nothing, I say that winning is not important," he added, with a laugh.

While City has already locked up the Premier League title, United is currently chasing silverware of its own, currently slated to take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final on May 19. Both sides were eliminated from the Champions League, though Liverpool remains in the hunt for European glory, as does Arsenal, which squares off against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-finals.
