Report: Liverpool prepared to sell Sturridge, wants £30M
Daniel Sturridge is reportedly looking to leave the sidelines at Anfield.
Liverpool put a £30-million price tag on Sturridge, who is keen to move on this month in order to realise his World Cup dream, according to the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce. The Reds are apparently prepared to sell the English striker after the Manchester City product informed them he wants to leave during the January transfer window in order to force his way into England's squad.
Jurgen Klopp is allegedly eager for Sturridge to stay at Liverpool, but will grant the footballer's wish if the Reds receive an offer they believe is reflective of his value. He's reportedly unavailable for loan, as the club is only considering a permanent move, but that could change if the asking price isn't met.
Southampton and West Ham United were linked with Sturridge, who made just nine Premier League appearances in the first half of the season, four of which came as a substitute. He's behind Roberto Firmino in Liverpool's pecking order and holds just three goals in all competitions, the last of which was scored in the Reds' 3-0 victory over NK Maribor in the Champions League.
Sturridge is one of four footballers at Liverpool remaining from the Reds' 2013-14 squad, when the club finished second in the Premier League.
