Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was left nearly speechless by Kevin De Bruyne's heroics in Saturday's 4-1 win over Tottenham, telling reporters that the Belgian star's performance was indescribable.

The 26-year-old scored the second goal and dominated in the middle of the park as City won its 16th consecutive match - and extended its unbeaten run in the 2017-18 season. Guardiola, who celebrates 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, had high praise for De Bruyne's play.

"I say thank you to all my players, especially Kevin because he is one of the most talented players and you see how he runs without the ball," Guardiola said after the match, as quoted by ESPN FC's Jonathan Smith.

"He is a good example for the young players, for our academy players. They know how good Kevin De Bruyne is and when they see how he runs and he fights for the ball that is the best example and he helps us to be a better club for the future. His performance today - I have no words to describe."

De Bruyne's strong season doesn't start and end with the 90 minutes of play at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday - the Belgium international has been in great form for City all season, scoring seven goals and recording 11 assists in 23 matches across the Premier League and Champions League.
