Czech striker Cvancara joins Monchengladbach from Sparta Prague
Czech international striker Tomas Cvancara has signed a five-year deal with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, joining from Sparta Prague, the two clubs said on Friday.
The 22-year-old striker managed 12 goals in 24 games for reigning Czech champions Sparta last season.
"Tomas is a striker that poses a real threat on goal, coupled with plenty of pace," said Roland Virkus, Borussia sporting director
The iDNES.cz news site said Gladbach would pay around 12.5 million euros ($14 million) for Cvancara.
"It's great to be here. Borussia Park is a great stadium. I can't wait to start proper training, to play and score goals," Cvancara said.
The lanky forward with two international appearances has made an impressive start with the Czech national team, scoring three minutes into his debut against Poland in the Euro 2024 qualification opener in March.
