German Cup draw: Dortmund, Leipzig on course to meet in final

Berlin, March 7, 2021 (AFP) - Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig remain on course for a potential meeting in the German Cup final after the semi-final draw kept them apart on Sunday.

Dortmund were drawn at home to second division high-flyers Holstein Kiel, who stunned Bayern Munich in the second round, while Leipzig will travel to either top-flight rivals Werder Bremen or second-tier Regensburg.

The last-four games are scheduled for the first weekend of May, with Bremen and Regensburg to play on April 7 in a quarter-final postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak at the second division side.

Leipzig are hoping to win their first major trophy in the final in Berlin on May 13, while Dortmund are aiming to win the cup for the third time in ten years.
