Arsenal could be set to lose another important cog in the machine as Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to entice the Gunners' head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.

The north London club changed manager for the first time in two decades this summer by replacing Arsene Wenger with Unai Emery and lost CEO Ivan Gazidis to AC Milan earlier this season.

Now, according to The Independent's Miguel Delaney and Luke Brown, they are at risk of losing Mislintat, the scouting guru they only appointed in November 2017.

Mislintat has overseen the club's transfer policy since his arrival, helping to procure the services of the likes of Premier League joint-top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, fan favorite Lucas Torreira, and midfield revelation Matteo Guendouzi.

However, Delaney and Brown report that the relationship between the former Borussia Dortmund employee and Arsenal's new regime is already strained, with several of Mislintat's recommendations being ignored. Emery is also thought to be wielding more power on the transfer front than Mislintat anticipated.

At Dortmund, Mislintat helped to bring in players like Aubameyang, Robert Lewandowski, and Ousmane Dembele into the wider consciousness and establish something of a golden generation under Jurgen Klopp.

Having seen his success at Westfalenstadion, Bayern are thought to be keen on bringing the German back to his home country. The Bavarians reportedly attempted to bring Mislintat to Munich in the summer of 2017.
