All has been eerily quiet thus far in the transfer window at Tottenham, but it appears one player in particular is likely to depart the club imminently.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino are willing to allow out-of-favor left-back Danny Rose to secure a temporary move away from north London and have held talks with Bundesliga side Schalke over a potential deal, according to The Guardian's Ed Aarons.

As well as Die Konigsblauen, Rose has also been granted the opportunity to explore other potential options, according to Sky Sports. Though the English window for signings closes on Thursday, Premier League sides can continue to offload players abroad until the closing of the European window at the end of August.

Rose, Tottenham's first-choice left-back for much of the last five years, has been stricken with the injury bug of late. Since suffering knee ligament damage in January 2017, the England international has managed just 10 Premier League appearances, with Ben Davies now appearing to have locked down the left-back position. Rose has consequently lost his starting Three Lions berth to Manchester United's Ashley Young.

The 28-year-old has three years remaining on the contract extension he signed two seasons ago. Should he move to Schalke, he would likely compete for the starting left-back spot with on-loan Chelsea man Baba Rahman.
