The Kolkata Knight Riders are 2024 IPL champions, after thrashing Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sunday's final by eight wickets.

Australian Mitchell Starc started the match with a bang for KKR: he bowled Sunrisers opener Abhishek Sharma with what the broadcast called a "dream ball." Check it out:

It was a stunning first out in the first over, and Sunrisers weren't able to figure things out. Their 113 is the lowest total in an IPL final to date.

Starc was dominant: he took two wickets and allowed only 14 runs in three overs. All six KKR bowlers took wickets, collectively shutting down the powerhouse Sunrisers offense.

Venkatesh Iyer led KKR offensively, recording an unbeaten 52 runs on only 26 balls.

KKR's title is its third and first since 2014. They left the pitch with a whopping 57 balls remaining - and the IPL trophy.
