The road to Rio is locked in.
The Copa America group stage ended on Monday, with Uruguay's victory over Chile and Ecuador's concurrent draw against Japan solidifying the tournament's quarterfinal matchups. The former teams were already assured of a knockout spot, while the latter two nations were both eliminated from the competition after their 1-1 stalemate.
As a result, the last-eight fixtures are as follows:
- Brazil vs. Paraguay (June 27)
- Venezuela vs. Argentina (June 28)
- Colombia vs. Chile (June 28)
- Uruguay vs. Peru (June 29)
Bitter rivals Brazil and Argentina are on a semifinal collision course, while Colombia and Uruguay will fancy their chances of reaching the final four after each side went undefeated in the group stage.
The final of this summer's tournament is slated for July 7 at the famed Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.
