Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo broke his own record on Tuesday, scoring four goals in an 8-0 win over Malmo to bring his tally in this season's group stage of the Champions League to 11 goals - more than any other player in history has ever achieved.
Ronaldo set the previous record of nine goals in 2013-14; Luiz Adriano of Shakhtar Donetsk matched that record in 2014-15.
Now, though, the Portuguese star holds the title all to himself once more.

Ronaldo's first goal of the evening came from a free kick, a spot he hasn't scored from in quite some time.

He then scored two rapid-fire goals in the first five minutes of the second half. The Portuguese forward leaped on a rebound to tuck away his second with ease.
He then added a third after picking off a low cross into the box and turning around a pair of defenders.
Ronaldo added a fourth goal within 10 minutes of his hat-trick, as the net bulged early and often at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
The Portuguese superstar, whose 88 Champions League goals are most all-time, has now outscored 27 of the team's in this year's competition all by himself.
