Kompany, Silva miss Manchester City training
Manchester City was forced to prepare for Wednesday's match against Juventus without a pair of influential contributors, as injuries forced Vincent Kompany and David Silva to miss training.
Kompany is attempting to overcome a calf injury that forced him to miss City's 4-1 loss to Liverpool, while Silva continues his recovery efforts from an ankle injury that's kept him out for over a month.
The Belgian defender appears likely to sit out his second straight game as Wednesday's match in Italy quickly approaches. There's also a chance manager Manuel Pellegrini will be forced to deploy a centre-back pairing of Nicolas Otamendi and Martin Demichelis as Eliaquim Mangala struggles to make his way back from an unspecified knock.
Silva hasn't appeared in a match for City since Oct. 3 before suffering the injury while on international duty with Spain. His possible exclusion would mark his ninth consecutive match on the sidelines.
