Lanus confirms death of Diego Barisone after reported car crash
Argentinian football suffered a tragic loss Tuesday as Diego Barisone, a defender for Club Atletico Lanus, died at the age of 26.
Lanus confirmed his death via Twitter, writing: "Lanus regrets the loss of Diego Barisone, a player from our institution. Condolences to his family at this painful moment."

The club also announced its fixture versus San Martin de San Juan, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed.
Barisone was killed in the early hours of Tuesday morning when his car crashed into the rear of a truck, resulting in his vehicle tumbling off the Rosario-Santa Fe Highway and being left totally destroyed, reports Deportes Talam.

Club Atletico Union, Barisone's hometown club and first club, was quick to offer its condolences, writing on Twitter: "Club Atletico Union expresses its most profound pain at the death of Diego Barisone, prodigal son of the Institution."
