The electricity among Juventus supporters was restored in the second half after Carlos Tevez converted a penalty to put the hosts ahead of Real Madrid.
Before scoring, it was Tevez that drew a foul on Dani Carvajal on his run into the Madrid box.
Referee Martin Atkinson pointed to the penalty spot without hesitation. Juventus players, however, immediately swarmed the English official, presumably asking him to produce a red card for the Madrid centre back.
The altercation resulted in a yellow card for Arturo Vidal, who was the most vocal, and another yellow for Carvajal.
Tevez stepped up to the spot and smoothly pounded the ball past Iker Casillas for the 2-1 advantage.
