Philipp Lahm took a positive step in his recovery from a fractured ankle.
The Bayern Munich captain began running Monday for the first time since suffering the injury during a training session in November, the team announced.
Lahm ran laps at the team's training ground for a half hour before resuming his rehabilitation program.
Although the initial prognosis suggested he might be back in February, it remains unclear when the defender will return to action.
