Brazilian football icon Pele is recovering after undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones.
The 74-year-old was hospitalized Wednesday after complaining of stomach pain. The Associated Press quotes the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo as saying that Pele is now "clinically stable" and "recovering" from Thursday's procedure.
The hospital did not provide a timeline as to when the former World Cup star would be released.
