It was only a matter of time until Cristiano Ronaldo silenced the crowd at Anfield.
The 23rd minute of Wednesday's Champions League fixture between Liverpool and Real Madrid saw the planet's most in-form footballer hand his side an early lead with an absolutely lethal give-and-go that sliced through the Merseyside club's backline.
After flicking the ball over to James Rodriguez with the outside of his foot, Ronaldo made a perfectly timed run into the box, where he received an impeccable chip and proceeded to poke the ball past Simon Mignolet with a merciless first touch.
Ronaldo now only needs one goal to draw level with former Real Madrid superstar Raul as the Champions League's all-time leading scorer.
