Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano has joined Lionel Messi in the Champions League record books.
Adriano netted five goals against BATE Barisov on Tuesday to join the Barcelona superstar as the only players to tally that many in a single Champions League match.
The Brazilian forward began the match in style by scoring four goals in the first half, setting a trio of records in the process, as Shakhtar went on to capture three points during a dominating 7-0 performance.
He became the first player to score four goals in a half, Shakhtar's all-time leading scorer (115 goals), and recorded the Champions League's fastest hat trick.
