Manchester City will be hoping that the apparent thigh injury suffered by midfielder Frank Lampard on Saturday against Tottenham is not overly serious, but at the very least, the veteran will miss one match.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed after Saturday's contest that Lampard, 36, will not travel with the team to Russia for the midweek Champions League match against CSKA Moscow.
"Frank has a muscle injury. We will see on Sunday after the scan but, for the moment, he will not travel to Russia," Pellegrini said.
Lampard, who was named City's Player of the Month for September, had to be stretchered off the pitch on Saturday at the Etihad.
