Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss Tuesday's Champions League match vs. Barcelona
The most enticing Champions League match on the docket this week just lost one of its biggest stars, and in the process its most intriguing storyline.
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed Monday that striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not play against his old side Barcelona tomorrow, as the big Swede is still being hampered by pain in his left heel, which also caused him to miss the club's match against Toulouse on the weekend.
Ibrahimovic, whose short spell in Spain ended unceremoniously and has seen him level no shortage of criticism against his former employers (particularly Pep Guardiola, whom Zlatan took another shot at this week), was holding out hope that he would be fit for the highly-anticipated clash.
With the 32-year-old on the sidelines, the attacking impetus will fall largely on the shoulders of Edinson Cavani, who will need to unlock a Barcelona defense that has not conceded a goal in seven matches so far this season.
