Ronaldinho becomes free agent after parting ways with Atletico Mineiro
Former FIFA Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldinho is on the open market.
The Brazilian, 34, decided Monday to part ways with Atletico Mineiro after a meeting between himself, his agent (and brother) Roberto de Assis and club president Alexandre Kalil, according to Agence France-Presse (via FIFA.com).
Ronaldinho, who has featured for some of the biggest clubs in the world over his remarkable career, will reportedly give a press conference alongside Kalil on Wednesday, during which he will clarify his future plans.
Don't expect a retirement announcement, though.
"He will play until he's 42! He will reveal his future destination on Wednesday," De Assis said, according to the website for Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
The 2005 Ballon d'Or winner starred in France (Paris Saint-Germain), Spain (Barcelona), and Italy (AC Milan) before returning home for spells with Flamengo and Mineiro, leaving many to speculate that a move to England - his final frontier, if you will - is on the cards.
