Chelsea confirms Petr Cech is suffering from 'minor illness'
Reuters
It was reported earlier that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was missing out on his first Premier League match of the season due to a virus, and now the club has confirmed that the Czech shot-stopper is indeed under the weather.
There was no official word on whether the 31-year-old would be able to play in Tuesday's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
However, considering the magnitude of that contest and the fact that Mark Schwarzer (41 years old) and Hilario (simply not good) are the backup options, it's probably safe to assume that Cech will be between the sticks.
