RB Leipzig's Upamecano agrees to join Bayern this summer
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic announced the club has reached an agreement to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
Salihamidzic confirmed the news to Sport Bild's Christian Falk, adding that the 22-year-old center-back will arrive at Bayern this summer on a five-year contract.
There's reportedly a release clause in the French international's Leipzig contract worth around €45 million.
Salihamidzic initially went public with Bayern's interest in the highly-rated defender last month, confirming reports that the Bavarians were in talks to sign Upamecano.
It's understood that Bayern view Upamecano as an ideal replacement for David Alaba, who's expected to depart the club after over 10 years when his contract expires this summer.
Chelsea and Liverpool were recently linked with Upamecano, while Manchester United have shifted their attention to other targets after showing interest last summer.
Upamecano has appeared in over 100 matches in all competitions for RB Leipzig since his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017.
