Real Madrid sign Brazilian sensation Reinier for reported €30M fee
Real Madrid continue to stockpile young Brazilian talent.
The club announced the signing of attacking midfielder Reinier on Monday, paying Flamengo a reported €30 million to bring the 18-year-old to the Santiago Bernabeu. The exciting playmaker signed a contract with Madrid that runs until June 2026.
The teenager, who scored six goals while helping Flamengo capture a league title in 2019, will link up with Castilla, Real Madrid's B team, after his involvement in Brazil's pre-Olympic tournament later this month.
Manchester City were also said to be tracking the rising star, but Madrid's relationship with Flamengo - which dates back to the 2018 signing of Vinicius Junior - likely factored into the negotiations.
Reinier joins Vinicius and fellow teenager Rodrygo in the Spanish capital, becoming the latest in a growing line of high-priced Brazilian prodigies to begin playing for the perennial Champions League contenders.
