Sanchez ruled out of Juventus showdown
Alexis Sanchez will miss Tuesday's Champions League encounter with Juventus after he was unexpectedly absent from Manchester United training on Monday.
The Chilean was a late substitute in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Chelsea, but sat out Jose Mourinho's drills to begin the working week. He joined Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot, Scott McTominay, and Jesse Lingard in the treatment room, according to ESPN's Rob Dawson.
Meanwhile, Tahith Chong, Tom Sang, and Zak Dearnley - all teenagers from the United setup - were training with the first team at Carrington.
Sanchez has started just two of United's past seven games as he attempts to rediscover the form that encouraged Mourinho & Co. to broker a deal for him in January 2018. He's scored only three league goals since joining the club, but one of those was the match-winning strike in a 3-2 comeback victory against Newcastle United on Oct. 6.
Juventus dropped their first points of the season on Saturday when Genoa eked out a 1-1 draw in Turin, while United's result at Chelsea means they've won just one of their past six matches.
