Much to the chagrin of many in German football, RB Leipzig is headed for the Champions League.

The club, founded in 2009 by energy drink behemoth Red Bull, has made an immediate impact in its first Bundesliga campaign. While an early-season title challenge ultimately faded, Ralph Hasenhuttl's side confirmed its place in Europe on Saturday, with a 4-0 hammering of Freiburg ensuring that Leipzig will finish in the top four of the Bundesliga table.

The club still has some work to do to secure an automatic Champions League berth, but at the very worst, Leipzig has a place in the tournament's qualifying round locked up.
