Arsenal's Mesut Ozil: Scores in shootout win over Italy
Ozil made two interceptions, put in two crosses and scored the opening goal of Saturday's shootout victory over Italy.
Analysis:
Ozil struggled to find an abundance of space versus a compact Italy side, but he latched onto a bouncing ball in the box and slotted it home to take the lead in the 65th minute. He did strike the post with his shot in the penalty shootout, but Ozil was once of Germany's most influential players again and should continue as such in Thursday's semi-final match versus the winner of France-Iceland.
