Sam remained in the NFL for all of the 2014, hopping from the St. Louis Rams organization over to the Dallas Cowboys in hopes of sustaining a job.
Nothing looked imminent and Sam never appeared in a game, so when he was told he'd be welcomed in the CFL, he jumped at the chance. Once his "Dancing With the Stars" contract was finished, Sam could finally accept a contract with the Alouettes
General manager Jim Popp spoke of his excitement to have Sam join the team in a statement he made on Friday.
“Not only have we added an outstanding football player, we have added even a better person that brings dignity, character, and heart to our team,” Popp said.
