The Winnipeg Blue Bombers easily dispatched the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night and earned a home playoff date in the process. The Bombers defeated their division rival 23-5 to clinch a home semi-final game next Sunday.

With the Western Division already wrapped up, the Stamps handed backup quarterback Andrew Buckley his first start, and with nothing to play for, the team managed just a field goal and a safety.

The Blue Bombers, second in the division, earned the necessary points to surpass the Edmonton Eskimos in the standings and earn their first playoff game in Winnipeg since 2011.

Bombers backup quarterback Dan Lefevour did enough in place of starter Matt Nichols, and the defence provided all the necessary points, recording a pick-6 and a fumble-return touchdown in the first half.

Winnipeg will face the winner of Saturday's regular-season finale between the Eskimos and Saskatchewan Roughriders in the first round of the playoffs.
