Behind standout performances from recent acquisitions Chad Owens and Trent Richardson, the Saskatchewan Roughriders had no trouble Friday disposing of the Montreal Alouettes, 37-12.

Richardson had his best game in Rider green, carrying the ball 20 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns. He ended the evening with a sparkling 6.4 yards per carry.

Owens led the way with nine receptions for 114 yards and a score in his second game with Saskatchewan.

The Riders alternated between Kevin Glenn and Brandon Bridge at quarterback, with Bridge leading the way in completion percentage and passing yards with 124, but Glenn had two touchdown tosses while Bridge registered only an interception.

Saskatchewan improved to 10-7 on the season with a chance to catch Edmonton in the standings. Both teams own 20 points and will meet next Saturday in their regular-season finales.

Montreal remains at the bottom of the league standings at 3-14.
