Ticats' HC Jones: Andy Fantuz to make season debut vs. Argos
After almost a year since the last time he suited up as an active player, Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Andy Fantuz is set to make his return to the gridiron.
Fantuz, who suffered a season-ending knee injury when he tore his ACL last November, will make his return to the Ticats when they take on the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, head coach June Jones announced.
"He's looking decent … he'll end up playing … I would anticipate that he'll play a majority of the game," Jones said during his press conference Thursday.
Fantuz enjoyed a fine season last year before going down with the injury, setting the Tiger-Cats' single-season receptions record, previously held by former Tiger-Cats great Darren Flutie.
Fantuz was officially signed by the Ticats on Sept. 18 and previously worked as a coordinator of player development throughout the season while on his road to recovery.
