Masoli replaces Collaros as RedBlacks keep Tiger-Cats winless

Another week, another game where the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are looking for answers.

The Tiger-Cats dropped to 0-8 after falling to the Ottawa RedBlacks 37-18 on Friday night, in a contest highlighted by miscues. Hamilton receiver Brandon Banks dropped what appeared to be a sure touchdown in the third quarter and the RedBlacks turned a botched exchange by Zach Collaros and running back C.J. Gable into a defensive touchdown.

Collaros struggled mightily, going 9-for-17 for just 102 yards. He was eventually replaced by Jeremiah Masoli, but the backup had no luck sparking the offense.

Ottawa signal caller Trevor Harris torched the Hamilton defense for 394 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Greg Ellingson was his favourite target, as the wideout hauled in 10 passes for 155 yards.

Hamilton will take another crack at earning its first win of the season when they meet the rival Toronto Argonauts on Labour Day, Sept. 4. Ottawa will take on the BC Lions next week on Aug. 26.
